Jamuan Eidulfitri 1435H

10 Ogos 2014 bersamaan 14 Syawal 1435H

Satu majlis yang sederhana dibuat sempena Eidulfitri untuk mengerat ukhuwah anak2 qaryah. A small gathering for the village folks was held to celebrate Eidulfitri 1435H and to strengthen ties among the folks.

Jamuan diadakan di perkarangan Masjid Jamek Telaga Air(MJTA), Butterworth.The gathering was held within the grounds of the masjed/mosque.

Ketupat dan rendang hidangan yang patut ada. The specialty in the Malay society for Eidulfitri that is the ketupat (glutinous rice) and rendang(meat dish) is a must.

AJK Masjed Jamek Telaga Air dan pembantu yang mengelola hidangan laksa dan nasi. The mosque committee members of MJTA and an assistant to take charge in serving the laksa and rice.

Layan diri, puan. It’s self-service maam.

  • Sebahagian para tetamu yang hadir. The guests that formed the crowd.
  • Sebahagian tetamu lelaki bergaya dengan Baju Melayu dan sampin. Some men folks smartly clad in the traditional outfit.
  • Sebahagian lagi tetamu2 yang hadir. Another part of the attended crowd. 

Menunggu giliran untuk  hidangan sate.Waiting to be served with the satay.

Tuan Pengerusi Qaryah,Tn Hj Zulkiffli Che Soh(bersongkok hitam)  bersama beberapa tetamu2 yang hadir. The honourable chairman of MJTA,Tn Hj Zulkiffli Che Soh(in black songkok) and some guests.

Alhamdulillah selesai sudah satu pertanggungjawaban. Alhamdulillah…. a responsibility fulfilled and we called it a day.

Kanji (bubur lambuk) Romadhon 1435H

Orang2 sebelah utara ni panggil bubur lambuk tu kanji.A kind of rice porridge is prepared for the Iftaar(breaking of fast) of Romadhon at  most masjed/mosque in Malaysia.

  • Persiapan membuat kanji bermula seawal pagi — selepas solat subuh. Preparation of the porridge started off early — that is after the subuh prayer.
  • Bawang,bawang putih dan halia untuk ditumis. Onions,garlics and gingers are the basic ingredients to be fried.

  • Bahan2 yg digunakan : halia,bawang besar, daun saderi, daging(dipotong kecil2), santan (4 kg). Ingredients used : gingers,onions, celeries,beef(cut into small pieces),coconut milk(4 kg).
  • Tumis halia,bawang putih dan bawang besar.Masukkan air dan beras (10 kg). Fry gingers,garlics and onions til golden brown. Add in water and washed rice grains (10 kg).
  • Kacau dan masukkan daging. Bila daging telah empuk dan beras telah betul2 kembang,masukkan santan dan garam secukup rasa. Give a stir and add in beef. When the beef has become tender and the rice grains have plumped up well, add in the coconut milk and salt to taste.
  • Akhir sekali masukkan hirisan daun saderi.Finally,add in the chopped celeries.

Kanji yang dah siap diceduk ke dalam sebuah besin besar untuk dibungkus. The ready rice porridge is being scooped into a large basin to be packed.

Proses membungkus kanji.Sedikit kanji juga disimpan untuk orang2 yg akan berbuka puasa di masjid. Packing the rice porridge. A small portion of the rice porridge is usually put aside for those breaking their fast at the masjed.

Bungkusan2 kanji (bubur lambuk) siap untuk diagih InsyaAllah kepada anak2 qaryah atau musafir2 yg singgah bersolat di Masjid Jamek Telaga Air. Packages of rice porridge ready to be distributed to the village folks and travellers who stop by to pray at Masjid Jamek Telaga Air,Butterworth.

Alhamdulillah dan InsyaAllah tugasan ini akan berlangsung selama 27 hari (dari 1 Romadhon hingga 27 Romadhon). Alhamdulillah and InshaAllah this charity work will last for 27 days (from 1st. Romadhon to 27th. Romadhon).
