Ulam jantung pisang,kunyit hidup dan pucuk salam

Kunyit hidup memang menjadi ulam kegemaran kami. Sedap sangat kalau campur dengan budu.Menjadi2 lah lagi bila dah baca artikel tentang kebaikan kunyit. Fresh turmeric has become one of our favourites and after reading an article of the benefits of turmeric, it motivates us more to consume this rhizome.

Bila dah cadang nak makan ulam, kita tambah dengan yang lain. With the intention of having salad for lunch,thereby it’s proper to have other items besides turmeric.

Jantung pisang.Subhanallah. Banana inflorescence or banana heart. Subhanallah.

  • Tanggalkan kelopak jantung selapis demi selapis. Remove the hard bracts one by one.
  • Buang kelopak jantung hingga ketemu bahagian yang lembut. Remove the bracts til we end up with the soft part of it.
  • Belah dua dan rebus dalam air yang dicampur sedikit garam hingga lembut.Ada orang makan mentah jantung pisang ni. Halve the banana heart and boil it in some water with some salt added to it. There’re people who can take this raw.

Sambal belacan. The chilly dip

  • Ikut suka nak guna cili padi saja atau dicampur cili besar dan cili padi. It’s up to us to use totally small chillies or a combination of big and small chillies.
  • Perah asam limau dan campur secubit garam.Tambah sedikit air jika suka. Squeeze 2 – 3 slices of lime and add a pinch of salt. Add a little water if preferred.
  • Belacan Indera Kayangan. Mai jauh…..langkau satu negeri. Baru pertama kali jumpa di kedai runcit.Langsai kat setengah papan.Half of this prawn paste was used.

Daun salam juga dikenali sebagai daun samak dan beberapa nama lain. The Indonesian bay leaves are also known by some other names locally.

Alhamdulillah….. boleh mamam dah. Alhamdulillah ….. it’s ready for lunch
